If the colour of hockey was yellow, Tarryn Glasby’s blood would be yellow. From 4 – 9 December, this current Grade 10 girl will be at the SA U/21 Junior World Cup Training Squad which consists of 32 players. The JWC is scheduled to be held in India in 2013 but they will also be playing some International matches in upcoming January and February. Furthermore Tarryn was the vice-captain for the WP U/16 girls team who won the Inter Provincial Tournament (IPT) held in Pietermaritzburg this year. At this tournament she was awarded the Top Goal Scorer and Most Valuable Striker. She was also chosen for the SA U/16 Training Squad . In October she played in a PSI Indoor Tournament in Johannesburg, where she shot 33 goals in 6 games! She was awarded Top Goal Scorer. And to round it off, Tarryn also plays for Durbanville Hockey Club in their Women's 1st Team. Yes, Tarryn Glasby could well be called “the piston” of girls hockey at El Shaddai Christian School. ESCS’s 1^st team girls played in the Grand Challenge League for the first time in 2011 and managed to remain there for the next season. With innate talent like Tarryn’s, El Shaddai hockey is bound to shine in 2012!
