Congratulations to the Grade 11’s and Moriah-Jane Lorentz in Grade 12, who achieved outstanding results in their IGCSE and AS Level Cambridge examinations written in June of 2016.
The International General Certificate of Education is an introductory set of examinations written the year before Matric.
Moriah-Jane Lorentz achieved 83% for her AS Level Music examination in June and is now preparing for the full A Level exam in Music. Amongst the IGCSE students in Grade 11, Kelsey Böhler achieved first place with an overall average of 91%, Ezra Fielding and Megan van Schalkwyk tied in second place with 90% and Sinead Stark attained third place with 88%. Individual subject achievements of 90% or higher are awarded what Cambridge calls “A stars” and Kelsey, Ezra and Megan all achieved 6 “A stars”. Other students who excelled were Tristan Ilgen, Samuel Cheong and Marike Schröder, who achieved 7 A’s, together with Ezra and Megan.
The Advanced Subsidiary examinations are written in the Matric year and the results are used for entry to Universities and Colleges.
